J&k’s well known designer, Director Natraj Natya Kunj jammu, and Sangeet Natak Akademi Delhi, Ustad Bismillah Khan awardee Abhishek Bharti’s conducted, 10 days professional mask making workshop at Ras kala Manch, Safidon , Harayana from 1 January to 10 January 2019 . In this workshop 20 artists from different states of India participated and made various kinds of masks like horse ,donkey, dog, cat, rat, elephant, eagle, owl, monkey, ox, witches and moreover masks of God Goddess of Hindu sanskriti like Radha, krishan, Vishnu, shiva , Hanuman, Ganpati, Suryadev, Inderdev and more than that masks relating to various plays were made, the exhibition of all these masks will be held on 20th of January at Studio Theatre of Ras Kala Manch Haryana.
Briefing to the media, Abhishek Bharti said that being a Theatre Director from J&K, I feel honoured to conduct this kind of workshop at Haryana.
The history of these masks in theatre is about five thousand years old and the use of these masks on Stage makes it more impressive. President Ras kala manch Sh Ravi Mohan said that today’s young generation who wants to do professional theatre require to have knowledge of all the aspects of theatre design and mask making is also a very important part of scenic design. He further said that its a matter of great pride for our team that Abhishek Bharti conducted such a creative workshop of mask making with our repertoire Artists. Rangmandal will continue to do such efforts in future to organise more workshop of this kind in Haryana as these kind of workshops enhance the creative energy of our youngsters and also give boost to inter-state cultural relations. Students who participated in this workshop includes, Deepak Sharma, pawan bhardwaj, Dhanjeet, Gourav Saxena, Kiran Dutt, Shweta, Vanshita, yogita saxena, kamal Maddy, Rati, Abhishek aman, Aashish Pathak, Sindbaj Ansari, vivek mishra, Abhishek Dhull, daksh, Sachin Saini, Arjun Choudhary, Shiv Kumar.
