100-year-old woman gets first dose of covid-19 vaccine in Kathua

Roshani Begum has seen a lot in her lifetime. In the past 100 years, she has lived through the India-Pakistan war and now she has also lived during a pandemic and has received the first jab of Covid-19 vaccine.
She took her first dose of the vaccine in the presence of the medical team at Village Koti Chandyar of Tehsil Bani of district Kathua. “Roshani Begum received her first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at Village Koti Chandyar. So far she is the oldest woman in district Kathua to have received the COVID19 vaccine as per available data,” Dr Rameshwar Singh said, who led the medical team in the village. “Inoculation of Roshani is an inspiration for all of us that this vaccine is totally safe,” he added.
Pharmacist Tanvir Ahmed, Dwasaj Ruksana Begum, Dental tech Reena Devi vaccinated and registered the people for vaccination drive.
It is pertinent to mention here that 77 percent of healthcare workers, 78 percent of frontline workers, and 12.28 percent of elderlies and co-morbid patients have been vaccinated in Jammu and Kashmir.
