KUPWARA, APRIL 10: The Department of Integrated Child Development (ICDS), Kupwara today held a function at Town Hall, here to felicitate, ‘Best performers during Poshan Mah 2020’.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone who is also holding the charge of District Programme Officer and Deputy Director, ICDS Kashmir, Bilkees Jan were Chief Guests at the event.
On the occasion, 11 Anganwadi Workers (AWs) from each ICDS block of the district, one Supervisor and a Junior Assistant were felicitated and were given a Certificate of Appreciation for showcasing their best performance during Poshan Mah last year.
Addressing the function, the ADC said that felicitating best performing functionaries will boost a healthy competition among themselves which will ensure better service delivery in rural and far flung villages of the district.
He also said that the department is going for cent percent coverage of all Anganwadi Centres with drinking water and electricity which will further develop the sector. The ADC urged the Anganwadi Workers to take their work as a social service for serving humanity , especially poor people.
The Deputy Director, ICDS in her address appreciated the field functionaries of the department for saturation of the ICDS schemes in far flung villages of the district. She stressed upon the concerned to ensure accuracy of the data collected for proper planning to ensure effective results on the ground.
Referring to the Poshan Tracker app, the Deputy Director asked the concerned that the App is very instrumental in real time monitoring of performance of both Supervisors and Anganwadi Workers, adding that daily progress reporting has been made to ensure timely deliverance of benefits of different schemes to the beneficiaries.
Later, ADC and Deputy Director held a joint meeting of CDPOs, Supervisors and Anganwadi Workers to review targets and achievements of the department.
It was informed in the meeting that all 80490 beneficiaries have been covered under ICDS General Scheme so far. Similarly, 4180 beneficiaries under PMMVY and 3580 beneficiaries under Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG) have also been covered in the district.
It was also informed that 2320 smart phones have been distributed among Anganwadi Workers to monitor all the schemes of ICDS especially Poshan Abhiyan.
