Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal and Mission Director JJM (J&K), Khursheed Ahmad Shah today reviewed the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes in the Poonch district. The review focused on the organizational structure, ongoing civil works, and challenges faced in project implementation.
The Executive Engineer Jal Shakti provided a detailed overview of the JJM schemes, highlighting that as many as 132 schemes are coming up in the district and numerous projects have been completed.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the block wise status of the schemes and instructed AEEs and JEs to address site-specific issues promptly and expedite work to meet the stipulated deadlines. The Mission Director emphasized the need to expedite ongoing works and initiate projects that have yet to commence, particularly in remote and urban areas, ensuring equitable access to clean water for all residents.
The discussion also covered the status of various components, including dug wells, pipe networks, GSR, pump rooms etc.
The Mission Director asked the Engineers and concerned officials to prioritize quality and timely completion while maintaining proper supervision throughout the process.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer jal Shakti, Vikas Sharma, SE Hydraulic Circle Poonch, SE PHE Mechanical Rural Jammu, Xen PHE along with JEs, Xen Ground Water division Jammu along with concerned AEE, besides other concerned officers were present.
