A colorful function was held at the Congress HQ here today to celebrate 134th foundation day of the party.
PCC Chief Shri G.A. Mir presided over the function while most of the senior leaders including Ministers, PCC functionaries, Corporators, office bearers of DCC Jammu Urban & Rural, Block Congress Committees, Congress Seva Dal, Mahila Congress, Youth Congress attended the function.
Former Ministers S/Shri Mula Ram, Taj Mohi-Ud-Din, R.S. Chib, Raman Bhalla, Ravinder Sharma, Kanta Bhan, Rajnish Sharma, Manmohan Singh & Faqir Nath Ex-MLA (General Secretaries), Vikram Malhotra & Hari Singh Chib (DCC Presidents Jammu Urban & Jammu Rural), Smt. Indu Pawar- President Mahila Congress, G.L. Chalotra & Prof. Garu Ram (Ex-MLAs), Rajesh Sadotra (Seva Dal), Hira Lal Pandita, Y.V. Sharma, Krishan Lal Gupta, Mohd. Sultan Mandoo were the prominent who attended the function.
Addressing a gathering PCC Chief congratulated the party Cadres over the foundation day of the party which was founded on this day in 1885. He said that Congress party has a history of struggle and sacrifices for the Nation during the 133 years. It united the entire country under one Umbrella to attain freedom and there after laid strong foundation of this country, which has emerged as one of the strong nations in the world, in seventy years after freedom.
Mir said that Congress ideology based on secularism and ‘unity in diversity’ is the only way to keep the country strong and united. He lashed out at the divisive policies of BJP which have created divisions in the society. He said that under young leader Shri Rahul Gandhi Congress has proved that the Modi led BJP would face a tough time in the 2019 elections, as the falsehood and fake propaganda against congress is getting exposed with every passing day. The recently held assembly elections of 5 states have proved to be a turning point in the politics of the country and Congress cadres are reenergized by the tremendous support and dynamic leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
