AHMEDABAD, JUNE 22,
A 14-year-old class nine student was found murdered in a private school in Vadodara on Friday, in a brutal reminder of the killing of a seven-year-old boy in a private school in Haryana’s Gurugram last year.
The student was found stabbed in the bathroom in the school premises where a knife with which he was allegedly attacked was also found.
The local police rushed to the spot as soon as the incident was reported to the city control room. As per the preliminary investigation, police suspect it was committed by a senior student with whom the victim had entered into an altercation.
The police have launched a probe and are looking for the senior student from class 10, who is absconding.
“Probe is underway in the incident,” said the school authorities in a statement.
“We have learnt about an altercation and a minor fight between two students on Thursday.
That incident was probably motivation for murder but we are ascertaining all facts,” a local police official said, adding that the cops are also looking at the CCTV footage and other security arrangements in the school premises.
The victim had joined the school only recently. His parents live in neighbouring Anand district while he stayed with his aunt in the city.
