On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and culmination of Swachta Pakhwara activities at adopted village Sehora an impressive function was organised by NCC Cadets of 2 J&K girls battalion of GCW Gandhi Nagar. Maj Gen NK Airy, NCC J&K Dte was the chief guest who was accompanied by Mrs Kajal Airy. The chief guest was received by principle GCW Gandhi Nagar, and Commanding officer, Ex MLA Ashwani Sharma and other reps of NCC fraternity. Impressive guard of honour was presented to the chief guest. The program commenced with floral welcome of dignitaries. A detailed report was presented about the activites taken up in the village from 24 May 18 till date where in they discussed the role played by the govt and non govt organistions for the upliftment of the village. She made a special mention of impact factor of the coordinated efforts of the commanding officer 2 J&K girls Battalion Col RK Sharma for the construction of hand pump setting up of display board, face lift of community hall. She also highlighted the contribution of principal poly technique college for the start of six month skill development course for 30 trainees in the village panchayat Sehora.
Swachta grahi Sh Ashwani Sharma Ex MLA also praised the determination and effect of activities conducted by the cadets like awareness rallies about ban on polyethene, menstrual health, digitalisation, segregation of waste, proper waste disposal, construction of compost pit.
The cadets also distributed cloth bags made by women of self help group in exchange of polyethene bags. Various cleanliness drive were also conducted along with village children
Later on prizes were distributed to cadets and villagers who voluntarily contributed for the cause. The chief guest in his closing address appreciated the villagers and motivated them to continue putting consistent and coordinated efforts to make Sehora a model village.
