Two-Week Summer School-cum-FDP on “Language, Literature, and Interpretation: Theory & Praxis”, organized by the School of Languages & Literature, began at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra. During the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Anil K. Tewari, Head, School of Philosophy & Culture and Dr. Yugal Khajuria, Dean of Students’ Welfare graced the occasion as chief guest and distinguished guest. Dr. Amitabh V. Dwivedi, Coordinator of the event, reported that during the two week time, there will be 40 hours teaching-learning sessions, conducted by eminent professors, chiefly by Prof. Rajnish Mishra from JNU, New Delhi; Prof. Rajneesh Aurora, Director, English and Foreign Language University (EFLU), formerly CIEFL; Prof. Vandana Lunyal, Director, Central Institute of Education (CIE), Chandigarh, Prof. Veerendra Tripathi, Banasthali Vidyapeeth, Rajasthan, Prof. Balaji Rananathan, University of Gujarat, Prof. Deepshikha Kotwal, Central University, Jammu, to mention a few as well as the in-house faculty members of allied schools.Also, there is a provision of weekly test and participants’ feedback to cross-check teaching-learning practice.
Moreover, the participants will alsogive presentation of 10-15 minutes each on the topics of literature, language and interpretation. First, two participants will be awarded with a prize after each week test. The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Sanjeev Jain, Registrar, Prof. V. K. Bhat, and the Dean, Prof. Mukhopadhdyay wished Summer School-cum-FDP a great success, and acknowledge that such events are immensely helpful in the academic growth of an institution.
