As many as 2678 rural sector works have been approved under district Capex plan in Rajouri District for the current fiscal. Similarly, as many as 827 works have been approved under Back to Village programme phase III of which tenders have been allotted for 300 works.
The information was shared here at a meeting chaired by Development Commissioner, Rajesh K Shavan today to review the performance of the Rural Development Department. The DDC asked the Executive Engineer REW to complete the estimation of all the works at the earliest. Among the others, CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; ExEn REW, Noor Ali and Block Development Officers attended the meeting.
Discussion was held on works approved under District Capex Budget, payments under MGNREGA, PMAY, B2V3, grey water management, 14FC, status of playfields and other developmental activities being carried out in the district was held threadbare in the meeting.
Reviewing the progress on PMAY houses being constructed in the district, the DDC asked the concerned officers to make sure that all the houses being constructed under the scheme are completed within set deadlines, besides the concerned were asked to ensure timely payment of instalments to the beneficiaries under the scheme.
The BDOs were directed to ensure that the work on all the houses in their respective areas is started within ten days. The DDC asked for starting all the tendered works immediately and also asked for completing the tendering process of all the works under B2V3. About Adhar seeding, the DDC issued instructions for achieving hundred percent Aadhar seeding of all the beneficiaries of the district in one week and also asked for organizing special camps in their respective jurisdictions for the said purpose.
The concerned officers were further asked to expedite the geo-tagging of all the developmental assets and ensure timely payments to the beneficiaries under MGNREGA. For the effective management of grey water in the district, the DDC stressed upon the concerned officers to make concerted efforts to conserve grey water to raise the water table in the district.
The DDC impressed upon BDOs and executing agencies to accelerate the pace of work in their respective areas by adopting innovative methods.
He directed the concerned officers to redouble their efforts in achieving the targets and also asked them to pace up the works and ensure cent percent completion of the targeted works within stipulated time frame.
The District Development Commiss ioner also asked for maintaining proper quality, while executing the developmental works besides, also warned of any laxity and asked the concerned to work with a proactive and people friendly approach.
