The two days long “2nd Sports Meet for Staff & Trainees-2018” organised by SPS Police Training School, Kathua to promote the sports activities and inculcate spirit of sportsmanship amongst the Police personnel/Trainees concluded today on 25th of April, 2018. The events/games which were played during “Sports Meet” include Volleyball, Badminton, Tug-of War, Basketball and Kabaddi in which various staff members and trainees of “04 Months Intermediate Class Course” participated actively and displayed their talent, spirit, physical & mental strength coupled with exemplary discipline.
During valedictory function, the final match of Tug of War was played between Outdoor Staff. v/s Trg.”A” which enthralled the audience. Sh.Tejinder Singh,SP Vice Principal PTS Kathua welcomed to Shri Ranjit Kanwar, SSP, Principal, SPS PTS Kathua as a Chief Guest. After the conclusion of games/events Trophies were presented to the Winners/Runner up by the “Chief Guest” as a token of encouragement. The overall trophy was won by Outdoor Team. Speaking on the occasion by the Chief Guest congratulated all the winners/ Runner up /participants and highlighted the importance of sports in maintaining our physical and mental fitness. While speaking on the occasion Principal PTS Kathua also highlighted the role of games and sports in leading healthy and stress free life and told that such type of events will continue in future also for the welfare of Trainees/Staff members.
In the last, the vote of thanks was presented by Sh.Tejinder Singh,SP Vice Principal PTS Kathua who thanked the Chief Guest, all the participants, Organising Committee members, Technical Staff of JKP Sports Central Team and Media Persons for their contribution to make this Sports Meet colorful and successful.
