To celebrate the Basant Panchami Mahostav , Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan, Jammu entered day second at Sudhmahadev in close coordination with the Department of Education, J&K Govt. & JK Dharmarth Trust Sudhmahadev. The Program was presented under the aegis of Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India under the scheme Cultural function and production grant. Sh.O.P.Singh , Assistant Commandant 187- Crpf Batalian was the Chief Guest on the occasion and lighting traditional lamp to inaugurate the cultural festival Along with Suraj Parkash, Social Activist, Balram Sharma Inspector Chowi officer , Rajinder kumar head constable, Sh. Ashok Kumar were the Guest of Honour. The program was commenced with Sarastwati Vandana , after lighting Traditional Lamp and presented Light classical Dance Om Sankalpamastu ,3 Sanskrit Shalok from Yazurveda (Manch Pooja) .Basant Panchmi, is a Hindu festival that marks the arrival of spring. Every years Lakhs of devotees form India & aboard visiting the holy temple to seek blessing of Lord Shiva. It is celebrates on the fifth day of the month of Magh according to Hindu calendar. In 2021, it is falling on 16th February. The festival is also referred to as Saraswati Puja in the country and involves worshipping Goddess Saraswati. People dress in yellow, as the colour is considered auspicious and also represents the mustard fields of Punjab and Haryana. Saraswati is worshipped as the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, art and culture, children are encouraged to write their first words in front of her idol, to seek her blessings. TheProgramme was presented through the trainees / traditional artistes were the special highlights and attraction of the progs which was presented under the direction of M.L.Dogra, Chairman, BLSKS & conducted by Sh. Yash Pal Yash renowed writer Music Director of the state . The Chief Guest lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such an events historical festivals and highlighted the importance of dugger culture in promoting traditional folk & culture including folk music and folk dances. The special role of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan-(NGO) underlined the importance of staging such musical concert in all parts of the state to generate awareness among the masses about various social evils through theatre/drama which are still very powerful medium of communication
Welcoming the dignitaries and pilgrimages Sh.M.L.Dogra,Former Regional Director,Song and Drama Division ,Government of India ,informed the aims & objectives of the programme, promotion of duggar culture & aware the masses about prevention from “Covid -19″( DO GAJ KI DURI BADI ZAROORI) “Swatch Bharat” and “Beti Bachao Beti Padao”, in far flung area of Jammu Province . Mask were also distributed among the pilgrims of adjoining area of sudhmahadev and presented the folk form of Duggar Pradesh, Gitru , Kalaye Kanwan , mero rumal (Kududu) , Taren Tudan Piayn , Jagarna , o-jija kiya jana udhampura , bakh, etc ) . Dogra also said the story of Sudhmahadev, a popular legend associated with this shrine is as, once, when Goddess Parvati was in deep prayer, a demon called Sudheet came to pay his respectful obeisance. But his demonic look frightened the Goddess and She made a loud shriek. Her cry revered acted across the mountains surrounding the valley. Lord Shiva was disturbed by the sound.
