In the ongoing celebrations of Nation wide 32nd National Road Safety month ,District Development Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma along with Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Dr. Harmeet Singh Mehta today kickstarted the campaign by flagging off Motor Rally from DC Office Kishtwar with the slogan of ‘Sadak Suraksha- Jeewan Raksha’ .
Other members of District Road Safety Committee Kishtwar, officials of MVD, Drivers, School Students ,members from transport unions among others were present on the occasion.
The Motor rally which was organised by Motor Vehicle Department Kishtwar with the aim to educate the people about traffic rules and regulations after starting from New DC Office Complex Kishtwar passed through Wasser, Kuleed, Bus Stand, Mini Bus Stand, Hidyal, covering almost the whole city and later culminated at Dak Bungalow Kishtwar.
Speaking on the occasion DDC appealed to the participants to spread awareness among people about safe driving, road safety and avoid the use of mobile phones while driving and also urged them not to break traffic rules that have been formulated for their own benefit only.
He further asked MVD Department to conduct such type of awareness programs on regular basis along with strict enforcement of traffic laws and appealed to the general public to cooperate in the mission of road safety.
