JAMMU, June 03:
The 33 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CEPF) today won the Inter-Battalion CRPF Jammu Sector Swimming trophy securing highest points at MA Stadium, here.
Overall second place went to 52nd Battalion. The event was organised by 38 Battalion of the CRPF based at Smailpur in district Samba.
Earlier, 14 teams, representing as many Battalion and Group Centre Bantalab involving 54 swimmers, took part in this competition under the guidance of technical penal from the CRPF and the J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC).
In the prize distribution function, 2nd In Command (Commandant AOL), B.S. Chowhan was chief guest, who presented individual medals and title trophies to the overall champion teams.
Speaking to the gathering, chief guest said that the event was organised to provide ever busy CRPF jawans a platform to excel and prepare for the National level competitions. “Such events also help tone up the body and mind and build competitive spirit as also to create awareness about sports,” said BS Chowhan.
Also present were Shweta Rana (Deputy Commandant), Rajpal (Assistant Commandant), G.L. Jat (Assistant Commandant) and other ranks of the CRPF.
