36th DODA DISTRICT VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP organized by VOLLEYBALL Association ofJ&K in collaboration with J&K Sports council concluded at Govt.Degree College Bhaderwah today. Last year winner sofi club retained the championship by defeating Thathri Volleyball club in thrilling match by 3-1 sets (score 25-19,19-25,25-23,25-22).
Earlier in semifinal match Thathri defeated Bhatyas volley ball club by 2-1sets( score ( 21-25,29-27,25-20)
Sofi Club Dadkaie defeated Sinoo Volleyball club by 2-0 sets (score 25-17,25-23 ). In all 13 teams drawn from far flung areas of Doda district namely Gandoh,Bhalessa, Sinoo ,Dadkaie ,Changa,Thathri ,Chinta ,Seri, Jai , Bhatyas etc., participated in championship.ADC Bhaderwah Sunil kumar JKAS,was the Chief Guest whereas Prof Rakesh Sharma GDC Bhaderwah was Guest of honor on the occasion .The Chief Guest exhorted the youth to come forward & supplement efforts of organizers /Govt/civil society by conducting such sports events in transforming the society free from pollution and drug addiction which is spreading fast nowadays .The chief guest expressed his gratitude to Organisers for advocating the cause of drug de-addiction among youth besides shortlisting the talented Volleyball players for J& K & National VOLLEYBALL Championships from Doda district. Amongst dignitaries Shri Ravi Thakur SDM (retd),Angrez Singh Physical Director of the college were present.Chief guest distributed trophies / Medals amongst winner and runners up volleyball teams of the championship .The office bearers of VAJK. ,Kuldeep Magotra Chief Executive Officer ,Ramesh Sharma treasurer & Vk Magotra Gen Secretary honoured the dignitaries by presenting momentos on the occasion. A large number of students of the college, teaching staff, sports lovers, stalwarts of the Volleyball game attended the function with keen interest. The Services of Mudasir Butt,Aftab Ahmed ,Salma Rubi,Rajni kotwal ,Gulshan Ahmed ,Amir Iqbal ,Mohd Arif (Rana) utilized asTechnical officials for smooth conduct of the 2 day championship .in which total 12 matches were played on knock out basis.
