36th Kishtwar DISTRICT VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP organized by VOLLEYBALL Association ofJ&K in collaboration with J&K Sports council commenced at Govt ,Model Hr Secondary (Girls) School Kishtwar today. ..In all total 8 teams drawn from farflung areas of the distt namely Berra Bata, Darbshalla,Matta ,Darashalla, Chatroo, Paddar etc.,besides in & around Kishtwar are participating in the 2-day championship .The championship is aimed at exploring the talents of the youth towards Volleyball game & generating awareness about various social programmes for their overall growth ..The Chenab Valley Power Projects (LTD), Pakul Dul H.E Project Kishtwar joined the organizers as Co partners by sponsoring the event for energising youth in National reconstruction activities and their involvement in eradication of social evils like drug addiction etc., from the society. The Principal (i/c) of the school Girdhari Lal declared the championship opened . Amongst dignitaries Madam Bharti Sharvat various sports lovers, students ,youth participated in the opening ceremony of the championship. Earlier V. K.Magotra, Gen Secretary of Volleyball Association of J&K unveiled the objectives of the championship from which Distt Kishtwar Volleyball team would be shortlisted for participation in 36th JKUT VOLLEYBALL Championship being organized by VAJK from 13th to 15th Dec 2024 at Jammu. Kuldip Magotra Chief Executive officer ,Ramesh Sharma Treasurer of the Volleyball Association of J&K honored the dignitaries by presenting momentos on the occasion. Results of the matches are as Bera bhata Volleyball club beat Boys higher secondary school kishtwar 2-1 sets score 25-18,16-25,15-10 DRABSHALA -B Volleyball club beat Islamia Hr.Sec .School by 2-0 sets and score 25-14 ,25-16. Matta volley ball club beat ITI Kishtwar by 2-0 sets score 25-17,25-13. Drabshalla volley ball club-A beat patshalla volleyball club by 2-0 score 25-19 25-17 Semifinals / Final will be played on 22nd November 2024 from 11:00am onwards.
