To commemorate the completion of 35 glorious years of Natrang, the organisation is going to organise a second 4 day theatre festival featuring four theatre productions by Natrang. This was disclosed here today by Natrang Director Balwant Thakur in a press briefing at Natrang Studio Theatre, Jammu. Giving details Balwant Thakur informed that Natrang has completed its 35 most happening years on 15th May, 2018 and to commemorate this occasion the group is organising a 4 day theatre festival. Since last one month Natrang is organising a Four day festival every month and this will be the second festival of the series.
The second festival will open on Tuesday 19th of June, 2018 with Shakespeare’s play Romeo Juliet which will be presented under the direction of Aarushi Thakur Rana at 6 pm at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu. This presentation of this show is supported by Airtel. On20th June, 2018 children play ‘Aap Humaare Hain Kaun’ will feature.
Natrang’s mega musical theatre production ‘Mata Ki Kahani’ will be presented on 21st of June, 2018 under the direction of Balwant Thakur. The festival will conclude with Natrang’s Internationally acclaimed Dogri play Ghumayee on 22nd of June, 2018. All the plays will be staged at Abhinav Theatre Jammu at 6 pm and the entry to the plays will be free. Balwant Thakur further informed that Natrang was established on 15th May, 1983 with the presentation of two unique short plays Neeli Jheel’ and ‘Nanhen Kandhey Pair’ directed by Balwant Thakur at Abhinav Theatre Jammu. Natrang through the selfless contribution of thousands of its associates, brought the J&K theatre to the National and International limelight and its highly acclaimed plays vibrated the theatre world and proudly travelled the whole length and breadth of the country and also crossed the boundaries of India as well and won appreciation in Russia, Germany, U.K., Singapore, Turkey, Hungary, Poland, and UAE and thus established a globally acknowledged brand called NATRANG. This organization has been highly instrumental in giving a new cultural and intellectual identity to this part of the country and revolutionized the cultural life of the place through its out of the world initiatives.
