Srinagar, Feb 13:
Police claimed to have arrested five Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of Jammu Kashmir Islamic State (JKIS) and recovered arms and ammunition from them in central Kashmir district of Budgam. A senior police officer said that following specific information, five OGWs of JKIS were arrested during different raids in Budgam. “Huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from them,” he said. He said OGWs have been identified as Shahnawaz Ahmad Wani, Nasir Ahmad, Bilal Ahmad, Irfan Ahmad and Ali Mohammad Bhat,

all residents of Beerwah in Budgam. “On preliminary enquiry it was found that the accused were associated with JKIS and used to provide shelter and logistic support to militants,” he said. He said the accused are being questioned and more arrested could happen in coming days.
