As part of 65th Cooperative week celebration, the Co-operative Department today organized a programme at Sainik Co-Operative Public High School, Tikri in which Registrar Co-operative Societies, J&K M.M Rehman Gashi was the chief guest. The theme of the event was “Inclusive growth and good governance through Co-operatives for rural prosperity”. Gashi highlighted the achievements and activities of the department towards the welfare and development of the society. He said that Co-Operative department provides financial help to poor and weaker section of the society especially the rural population of the country for their socio-economic empowerment.
Earlier, Deputy Registrar Co-operative Societies Agriculture, Dr. Pardeep Singh threw light on achievements of the department in the district. The students of the school presented theme based scintillating cultural programme besides participating in drawing and painting competitions organized on the occasion. Secretary Ex Serviceman Co-operative Consumer Store, Udhampur, Natu Ram Kuduial put forth various problems being faced by the institution in the district. On the occasion, the chief guest distributed prizes among the participating students. The programme was attended by Joint Registrar Co-operative Societies, Sandesh Kumar Gupta, District Information Officer, Sajad Bashir Somberia and other district officers besides members and representatives of Cooperative society.
Later, Principal of the school, Bandana Gupta presented vote of thanks.
