KATHUA, June 15:
Abhishek XI today registered a fine eight wickets victory against Death Warriors Kathua in the JKCA Premier (Under-19) Cricket Championship for district Kathua at Sports Stadium, here.
Batting first, Death Warriors set a target of 159 runs for six wickets in 30 overs. Skipper Raghav completed his half century (51, 7×4) while Sangham contributed 37 runs to the total. From Abhishek XI, Rajat bagged two wickets, followed by Shanu, Sudanshu and Naresh, who shared apiece each. In reply, Abhishek XI chased the total, courtesy unbeaten half centuries from Akshey (52 off 37 balls,
9×4) and Naresh (51 off 47 balls, 5×4). It took Abhishek XI 20 overs to overhaul the total making 160 runs for two wickets. Skipper, Abhishek Sassan contributed 23 runs. From Death Warriors, Rakshit took one wicket.
Naresh was declared man of the match for his all-round performance of 51 runs and two wickets.
Mohan Dub and Sanjeev Singh were umpires while Kulbhushan Singh was scorer in today’s match.
