The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released its fourth and final list of candidates for the remaining 38 seats on Sunday. According to the list, party’s national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will contest from the New Delhi constituency, while Delhi Chief Minister Atishi will contest from the Kalkaji constituency. The Assembly elections are scheduled for February, 2025. However, the Election Commission is yet to announce the date for polls.
Notably, the former Delhi Chief Minister will contest from the New Delhi Assembly constituency for the fourth time. AAP has been in power in the national capital since 2013, when it formed the government for 49 days. In 2015, it won 67 seats and in 2020 it won 62 seats.
In a post on X, Kejriwal expressed confidence in the party and wrote, “The party is contesting elections with full confidence and full preparation. The BJP is missing. It has no CM face, no team, no planning and no vision for Delhi. They have only one slogan, only one policy and only one mission — ‘Remove Kejriwal’. Ask them what they did for five years, they’ll answer — ‘Abused Kejriwal’.”
He further wrote that AAP has a vision, a plan for development of the people in Delhi and a good team of educated people to implement it. “There is a long list of works done in the last ten years. Delhiites will vote for workers, not abusers,” the former Delhi CM added.
As per the list, Satyendra Kumar Jain will contest from Shakur Basti, Durgesh Pathak from Rajinder Nagar, Ramesh Pehalwan from Kasturba Nagar, Raghuvinder Shokeen from Nangloi Jat, Som Dutt from Sadar Bazar, Imran Hussain from Ballimaran, Jarnail Singh from Tilak Nagar.
There are two new names in the list of 38 candidates released today, all the remaining 36 MLAs have been repeated.
