The Akhil Bhartiya Gau Shala Research Foundation today initiated a plantation drive under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Abhiyan, starting from Zorawar Singh Chowk to Shiva Ji Chowk, Jammu. The event was graced by the presence of Advocate P.S. Chandel, Convener of the Foundation, Dr. Vikas Bhardwaj, State President and Sh Shyam Anand.
Speaking on the occasion, Advocate P.S. Chandel emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable development. He highlighted the Foundation’s commitment to promoting greenery and improving the ecological balance in the region.
Dr. Vikas Bhardwaj, State President also urged the government to establish cattle pounds in every district of Jammu and Kashmir, with each pound covering an area of 200 kanals of land. He stressed that these facilities are essential for the welfare and protection of stray and abandoned cattle, which are an integral part of the rural landscape and heritage.
Dr. Vikas Bhardwaj, in his address, spoke about the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to enhance the green cover in the state and the need for community participation in such initiatives. He reiterated the Foundation’s dedication to safeguarding the environment and promoting the welfare of cattle through various programs and activities.
The plantation drive saw enthusiastic participation from numerous volunteers and members of the community. Other notable attendees included Gurmeet Singh Tiger, Dr. Ankur Dental, Narinder Gupta, Dr. Sanjay Koushal, Ranjan Gupta, Nitin Sharma, Subash Gupta, and Vishmber Sharma.
The event concluded with a pledge by all attendees to continue supporting the cause of environmental conservation and to actively participate in similar initiatives in the future. The Foundation expressed its gratitude to all participants and urged more people to join hands in their mission to create a greener and healthier environment.
