JAMMU, Nov 13:
Beating equally good Vidit Gawri 3-1 (54-0, 43-68, 29-68, 66-43) in the best of five final, Abhishek Pathania today won the senior Snooker title in the near month-long 27th Jammu District Billiards and Snooker Championship which was organised by J&K Billiards and Snooker Association at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here.
The senior Billiards trophy retained by seasoned cueist and a staffer of the J&K Forests Department, Sohail Khalid, who beat Vidit Gawri on the other day.
Young Hardik Gupta, lost in the Sub-Junior Billiards final, named as youngest participant of the tournament.
Assistant Solicitor General of India High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, Vishal Sharma was chief guest, who gave away the title trophies and other prizes. Also present were Divisional Sports Officer of the J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC), Ravi Singh and Manger JKSSC, Satish Gupta.
Earlier, the chief guest was received and formally welcomed by the Association members, Siddharth Sharma (chairman), Sanjeev Gupta (president), Vishal Abrol (general secretary), Sohail Khalid (treasurer), Nikhil Kaphai (vice president), Jaideep Manocha (senior vice president), Ishuk Choudhary (organising secretary), Ishan Choudhary, Sunil Jain and Gurjeev Singh.
The competition held under the guidance of technical penal led by senior marker of JKSSC, Rakesh Kumar.
