JAMMU, MAY 17:
Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad organised a protest march at Gandhi Nagar. The protest was led by Deepak Gupta ABVP State Secretary Jammu Kashmir along with other student leaders.
The protest demonstration was held against the unilateral decision of the central government to impose cease fire for the military operations in Jammu Kashmir during the month of Ramzan.
The students raised slogans against the decision of giving a religious touch to the Indian Military Operations carried out by Indian Army in Kashmir. Deepak while addressing the students said that the decision so imposed by the government on Indian army is purely with the intention of the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to slow down operation all out in the valley.
He further added that such ceasefire was imposed back in the year 2000 during the Sh. Atal Behari Vajpayee government which led to the killing of 828 people in the valley, and similar instance of weapon snatching and attack on Indian army in Shopian yesterday is a hint to the government that this cease fire will fail.
This will not prove good for the Indian army as it is binding them to wait for the attack and then retaliate and the militants wont attack with flowers they attack with guns.
He further said that the central government should not leave Indian army in the valley to get martyred in the hands of militants in this way and should be given right to carry operation all out in the valley so that the peaceful atmosphere can be created in the coming future.
Others who addressed the students were Piyush Khajuria, Vidash Dalmotra, Suyash Gupta, Nandita Sharma.
