ADC Baramulla reviews implementation of PM-SYM

BARAMULLA, MAR 04:
Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Mohammad Ahsan Mir today convened a meeting to review the database of beneficiaries registered under Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PM-SYM) scheme in the district.
The scheme aims at ensuring old age protection for unorganized workers whose monthly income is Rs 15,000 per month or less and are in the age group of 18-40 years.
On the occasion, a thorough discussion with regard to the proper implementation of the scheme was held wherein the ADC directed the concerned officers to register all the unorganized workers from their respective domains as early as possible. He said that the scheme will be launched throughout the country tomorrow by the Prime Minister.
He stressed upon them to achieve the target completely before its launch. It was informed that about 2000 workers against the target of 15000 have been registered so far.
ADC asked the officers to promote the scheme through various modes of communication in every corner of the district. He exhorted upon them to work in coordination so that every beneficiary is enrolled into the scheme. The ADC also got feedback on status of implementation of the scheme on ground which will ensure pension for the unorganized workers.
Assistant Commissioner Development Yawar Ali, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo, Chief Horticulture Officer, Assistant Commissioner Labour Waheed Ahmad,ARTO Jamsheed Choudary, CSC coordinator Shakeel Ahmad District and Sectoral officers, and various other concerned attended the meeting.
