Additional District Development Commissioner Kat hua Surinder Mohan, today chaired a meeting of District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) to discuss the various Plan scheme being implemented by Cooperative department, here at DC Office Complex Kathua.
CAHO Dr Yugal Kishor, DDM NABARD Amit Kumar, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Tasbina Sheikh, and other members of the Committee were also present.
At the outset, Deputy Registar Cooperative Societies apprised the DC about several ongoing schemes of the department viz, Computerization of PACS, converting PACS to PMKSK, JAN Aushadhi Kendra and formation of new Farmer producer organisations (FPOs) and 100% adoption of model bylaws by the PACS etc.
The DR informed the committee that Computerization is completed for all 55 functional PACS besides they have been on boarded with the CSC IDs to function as CSC centre in their respective villages. She further said that the PACS were also being encouraged to operate PMKSK for fertilizer distribution.
The DR further apprised the committee that 3 new multipurpose PACS have been formed in uncovered panchayats/Villages of Kathua besides a total of 16 FPOs have also been registered.
Regarding Jan Aushadhi Kendra, DR CS informed the ADDC that currently Basantpur MPCS and Korepunnu MPCS are operating JAN Ayushdi kendra, besides 3 more PACS namely Billawar MPCS, Ramkote MPCS and Bani MPCS are under process to get permission from Pharmacy council to operate as JAK.
About the world largest decentralized grain storage plan, DR informed that 5 MPCS namely Rajbagh, Parole, Keriyan Gandyal, Devochak and Salore have been proposed to create such storage facility wherein Rajbagh MPCS has been declared as pilot project.
The ADDC assured that issues related to the land for the world largest decentralized grain storage plan will be taken up with the concerned Revenue Authority on priority.
Regarding utilization of available infrastructure for the larger good of the people, the ADDC directed the department to use computers of the Cooperative societies for extending digital services to the members as well as the common rural populace.
