ADG NCC visited SLRM centre on the occasion of 150th Birth Anniversary of the father of nation in “Sehora” the village adopted by the NCC cadets of 2 J & K Girls Bn of Govt PG College for Women Gandhi Nagar Jammu. He was received by Brig Sanjay Kadian Group Commander Jammu, Col RK Sharma Commanding Officer, 2 J&K Girls Bn Jammu, Sh Ashwani Sharma Ex-MLA Bishnah and Prof. (Dr.) Kaushal Smotra Principal Govt PG college for Women Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The program started with the welcome address by JUO Aastha Sharma. SUO Shwetna Sambyal, the team leader of 10 member team of summer internship appraised all the dignarities about the work done by the NCC cadets like Swatchha rallies, Nukkar Natak, Wall paintings, promotion of digitalization during the last 4 months by board presentation.
Lt Shivani Sharma, the nodal officer of the team discussed the vital role played by the NCC team in coordinating between the Govt and Non Govt agencies for the betterment of the village. The team also took an initiative to revive J&K’s first SLRM (Solid liquid Resource Management) centre of village which is not working at present.
Major General Nilandra Kumar ADG J&K Dte appreciated the work done by District Administration and Rural Development Officer especially the support of Principal Govt PG College for Women Gandhi Nagar and Ex- MLA.
Momentos were presented by the ADG to SUO Shwetna, JUO Astha, JUO Divya, JUO Diksha, Cadet Rifat, Cadet Vimansa and village children Vishal, Deepak, simran, Manik, Yoga Singh to appreciate their sincere approach. Momentos were also presented by NCC to Village Sarpach Sh Harminder Singh, Naib Sarpanch Smt Meena and SLRM centre worker Sh Ramesh.
ADG along with the team of VIPs also visited SLRM centre where Dr. Zaffar apprised him about the functioning of the centre. The whole programme was coordinated by Lt Shivani Sharma (ANO) and Lt Malti Rajput (ANO) with the help of cadets and NCC staff of 2 J&K Girls Bn under the guidance of the Commanding Officer. The program was attended by Prof Sudanshu, Prof Suman, Prof Surinder, Mr Vinod Kumar Khullar (Asst Sanitation Officer) along with large number of village community.
