Advisor Skandan reviews digitization of land records under DILRMP

Advisor to Governor, K Skandan today chaired a meeting to review the scanning and digitization process under Digital Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) at Revenue Training Institute, Bemina here.
The meeting was attended by Financial Commissioner Revenue, Dr Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Commissioner, Survey and Land Records, G M Dar, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhry, Regional Director, Survey and Land Records Srinagar, Tassaduq Hussain and other officers.
Financial Commissioner, Revenue presented a detailed resume of the digitization programme to the Advisor including the process of scanning, preservation of revenue documents, data entry, digitization of maps, Jamabandis and updation with latest mutation records.
The Advisor was informed the work was being done in two shifts to complete the digitization of documents in stipulated time frame.
The functionaries of RAMTECH Software India- the firm assigned for the job of scanning, computerization of various old revenue records gave a power point presentation of the digitization process.
The meeting was told that against a target of 6.20 crore documents, 3.95 crore documents were scanned and out of which 2.23 crore have been quality checked.
The Advisor was informed that against 51,900 old revenue maps (Mussavis), 47,965 have been scanned and 26,259 were Quality Checked, besides the digitization of 438 out of 520 Revenue Maps of Srinagar district have been completed.
It was also given out that the Scanning Capacity has been enhanced by 60,000 Documents per Day from 128,000 to 188,000, and additional manpower of 145 people were deployed for quality check.
The meeting was also told that out of 137 Jamabandies (RORs) of district Srinagar ,58 has been completed and the remaining would be completed by July 2019.
Speaking on the occasion, the Advisor stressed for the completion of the process at the stipulated time so that digitized documents would be made available to people.
He directed the RAM TECH firm to sort out the issues during the digitization process like quality check, scanning, blurring, cropping, etc.
The Advisor appreciated the concerned department and said the digitization is crucial for streamlining the revenue records so that these could be make easily accessible to public.

Earlier, the Advisor also inspected the Central Record Room and met the staff working on the project of digitization while appreciating officers for their dedication.
