JAMMU, JULY 06: Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO) Jammu, Dr Mohd Ismaiel organized an awareness camp regarding Zoonotic diseases.
A large number of farmers and people of department participated in the training programme.
The Zoonotic diseases which spread from animal to human beings were discussed in detail and containment measures of various zoonotic diseases like Glanders, Brucellosis, Rabies, Jhones diseases, TB were also discussed in the meeting.
The dreadful avian influenza was also discussed in detail. Different measures to prevent pandemic of influenza were described before the technocrats of the department. Avian influenza which spreads from the migratory birds and pig also, is alarming all over the world and also causing financial loses to poultry farmers as well.
CAHO explained that till date no case of bird flu has been detected in J&K state which is the due to hard working and timely preventive measures taken by the veterinarians as they collect serum samples timely for the detection and regular monitoring of the disease.
