AIIMS coordination committee today convened a press conference in connection with establishment of AIIMS in Jammu . While interacting with the media person the main constituent of aims coordination committee the then bar president Sh. Abhinav Sharma , Narayan Jamwal (the then president , Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha , Jammu now VP BJP and Sh. Pavitar Singh ( President JPPF) extended their heartiest thanks to Sh. Narendra Modi PM of India and his entire team including Sh J P Nadda Union Health Minister of India0 for sanctioning another AIIMS to Jammu province as the earlier one was shifted to Kashmir . The people of Jammu were annoyed for shifting the AIIMS sanctioned for Jammu to Kashmir in 2015.
The heads of the social organization sat together and decided to launch an agitation for either reverting their order of shifting AIIMS to Kashmir or to sanction another AIIMS to Jammu province. In the month of May 2015 AIIMS coordination committee was constituted and it was decided that the bar association of Jammu (BAJ) will lead the agitation with the support of JPPF and other social organization . Mr. Abhinav Sharma ( the then BAR president) was nominated as the chairman of the AIIMS coordination committee and the agitation was started in the last week of June 2015 . The agitation for establishment of AIIMS continued for 3 months with six days of complete Jammu bandh from 31st July 2015 onwards and six FIR’S were lodged against different person including Mr. Abhinav Sharma and in the year 2016 all six FIR’S were got cancelled by Mr. Abhinav Sharma , even the public of entire Jammu province participated with full enthusiasm which finally resulted in sanctioning of another AIIMS for Jammu province . Though even after getting sanction from the central govt. it took very long time to become a reality and now almost 3.6 years are over.
Now the AIIMS coordination committee demands the central Govt. to ensure that the dream project of people of Jammu province may please be made functional at the earliest as we have already wasted a long time to create the requisite infrastructure. Further AIIMS Coordination Committee also demands that appointment of qualified and experienced persons may please be appointed without compromising on the quality and standards required for institution of eminence such as AIIMS and if need be the rules creating hurdles for appointing people from outside the state should be relaxed for such a institution so that the people of Jammu could get quality healthcare facilities in their own state. The people of Jammu have already suffered a lot due to poor healthcare facilities in the entire Jammu province and even the Super Specialty Hospital constructed long back could not function up to the expectation of people of Jammu province and has proven like white elephant where the public is facing acute shortage of healthcare facilities thereby running to other states like Punjab, Delhi, Mumbai etc for quality healthcare facilities and extends its thanks to all the organizations who extended whole heartily support for making project a reality.
