Mumbai, Oct 15 :
An Air India air hostess fell off a Mumbai-Delhi flight on Monday morning during boarding process at Mumbai airport.
The incident took place when the flight AI864 was being readied for its scheduled departure around 7 am.
“During boarding the passengers, she went to open the L5 door of the Boeing 777 to allow the step ladder to align with the door. There was a gap and in the process of opening the door, she slipped and fell onto the tarmac,” said an Air India official.
“She suffered a compound fracture in the right leg, fracture in both heels and soft tissue injury in chest, abdomen and lower spine,” the hopsital said.
She also sustained a sprain in the neck (cervical spine). She is being treated under Dr Prakash M Doshi, Director of Orthopedics and Traumatology and is currently under observation.
