AJKPC appoints block-level coordinators to intensify outreach programme across Jammu

All Jammu Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) state president Anil Sharma on Friday announced the names of block-level coordinators of the organisation in Jammu region.
While appointing block-level coordinators, Sharma, who has been visiting different blocks of the state, said the new coordinators will further expand its base of AJKPC at the grassroots level and intensify the outreach programme launched by the organisation to strengthen the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in the region.
Sharma said Pawan Sharma has been appointed as coordinator of block Pouni in district Reasi, while Akram Chodwary will be the coordinator of block Mahore in Reasi. Kewal Singh will be the coordinator of block Arnas and Raj Kumar of block Reasi.
For different blocks of Udhampur district, Sanjeet Sharma will be the coordinator of block Jaganu, Sudesh Kumar of block Chenani, Hans Raj Thakur of block Moungari, Kuldeep Kumar of tehsil Panchari, Kartar Singh of block Panchari, Rajesh Kumar of block Majalta, Manoj Verma, youth president block Khoon, Nirmal Kesar youth president, Ramesh Gupta of block Khoon,
For various blocks of Jammu district, Sharma said Avtar Singh will be the coordinator of block Satwari, Lala Kishore Sharma of block Nagrota, Romal Singh of block Dansal, Pawan Rania of block Miran Sahib, Jatindar Singh of block Bishnah, Kuldeep Raj of block Arnia, Rohit Sharma of block Marian Mandrian, Des Raj Bhagat of block Akhnoor, Pathan Singh of block Khour, Ram Saroop Sharma of block Pargwal, Anil Kumar of block Sunderbani, Suresh Kumar of block Samoua and Anita Verma of block Khara.
The AJKPC state president also appointed Ram Lal Kalia as coordinator of block Hiranagar in Kathua district.
Meanwhile, the AJPCK again reiterated his demand for constitution of BDCs and DDPBs before holding assembly elections in the state.
He also sought a separate finance and election commissions exclusively for Panchayats if the government really intends to empower the people at grassroots level.
The AJKPC leader said they have also demanded that the Centre and the state administration should devise a mechanism under which the Sarpanches and Panches are paid monthly salary rather than honorarium.
“Each Sarpanch should be paid a monthly salary of Rs 25,000 while an amount of Rs 10,000 should be paid to each Panch every month so that they are able to smoothly carry out development activities in their respective Panchayats,” he demanded.
