Akshay Kumar is one actor who has been constantly starring in socially relevant films for quite a while now. Be it ‘Jolly LLB 2’ or ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’, he went on to make the audiences rethink on a lot of social issues. And with his latest release ‘PadMan’ focussing on menstrual hygiene, he went on to garner a positive response from all over. The actor is always ready to go that extra mile for his role. The latest news reports cite that Akshay, who was shooting for his upcoming film ‘Kesari’ in Wai in Maharashtra’s Satara district, went onto injure his ribs while he was shooting the action-heavy climax sequence of the film.
Needless to say, he was reportedly advised complete rest but the actor refused to take rest and apparently retired to an accommodation in Wai despite the chopper being available at standby. According to reports, the actor will rest for a while and will then decide on the further schedule of shooting.
On the work front, the actor is awaiting the release of ‘Gold’ and Rajnikanth starrer ‘2.0’.
fter Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ made waves at the box-office in August 2017, his wife Twinkle Khanna’s tweet about public defecation on Juhu beach, Mumbai caused a storm. Twinkle’s tweet read, “Good morning and I guess here is the first scene of Toilet Ek Prem Katha part 2 #WhenYourWalkGoesDownTheToilet.” She was on out on a morning walk on the beach as she spotted a man defecating in the open. Her tweet was also criticized for insensitivity towards slum-dwellers who have no choice but to use the beach as a toilet in the absence of public loos.
Acting upon Twinkle’s tweet, Akshay has teamed up with Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray for installing the toilets and have spent reportedly around Rs 10 lakh. The toilet has six seats, three each for men and women, and a separate row of urinals. To nip the problem of stink, the toilets have bio-digesters so there will be no stench. At the moment, there is only one public toilet at the main entry of the 6 km beach.
Akshay Kumar didn’t have a Godfather in the industry but he has managed to make his own place in Bollywood. The actor is as saleable a star as the Khans and is banked upon for his hold on the box-office. Never the one to shy from experimenting, Akshay has constantly reinvented himself. Let’s take a look at why he is different from the Khans…
