District Administration Udhampur under the guidance of District Development Commiss ioner, Dr Piyush Singla has made all arrangements to receive the people of J&K who are stranded outside and are being brought back to home through special trains and to be de-boarded at railway station Udhampur.
The DDC informed that magistrates along with other staff members have been deployed to receive these passengers at the platform. Besides, the district administration has made a specially designed app for registration of passengers. Data entry operators have been deployed to guide the passengers about process of online registration on App. The Nodal officer at control room will get the real time data for data base management, which will facilitate the allocation of buses for onward journey of these people to their home towns immediately.
The DDC further informed that all arrangements have been made for the refreshment of these people at the railway station, they will be served water bottles at the registration counter. The administration has earmarked the holdings area and district wise seating arrangements with proper shades and chairs. Moreover, sanitization tunnels are also established and sanitizers are made available for the use of passengers. Packed meals with water bottles will be served to these people in buses. Sufficient staff is deputed to guide these passengers for registration, for sitting in concerned buses.
Pertinent to mention here that Chief Secretary J&K BVR Subrahmanyam reviewed all arrangements and mock drill conducted yesterday and expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements. The CS highly appreciated the development of mobile app for registration of passengers and online data base management, which will help in proper crowd management and dispatch of passengers with minimum delay.
District wise holding area with seating arrangements is earmarked, buses with district wise tagging are kept ready and announcement teams to facilitate the passengers are kept in ready mode. Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce J&K, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi who is also nodal officer for this initiative is monitoring the working and coordination of all teams closely.
