Jammu Sept 29:-
Sh. Neeraj Gupta State President along with Rehri and Khokha Workers Trade Union today held a protest Rally from Transport Nagar to JDA Jammu and protest demonstration was held in front of JDA Office Rail head complex against the demolition of their Khokhas and Rehris at various zone of Transport Yard Narwal Jammu. While interacting with the media persons Sh. Neeraj Gupta (state president of the union) said that in the name of beautification and removal of encroachment JDA has destroyed the rehris and temporary kokhas and exploited the poor and unemployed youths.
He said that unemployed youths of Jammu who and totally dependent on these rehri’s and khokhas are feeling helpless as even after assurance by the Advisor to[WU1] the Hon’ble Governor Sh. B.B.Vyas and Vice Chairman of JDA, these demolition drive to vacate the land and make a smart city is continued. It is very unfortunate that the Govt. is interesting in rehabilitating the stone peltors and militants, but don’t interested in rehabilitating the youth of Jammu who is generating employment on his own and without the help of the Govt. In these times when the most important curse of our society is unemployment it is appreciable that instead of indulging in the criminal activities these unemployed youths are generating their own source of income, but it is very unfortunate that our Govt. has no policies to settle such unemployed youths. There are encroachments by influenced people, MP, MLA and Ministers in the Tawi and in the Forest Land, but the Govt. has not taken any action against them for the reasons best known to them. Is it justified to displace the unemployed youth worked hard to earn their livelihood.
Isn’t it responsibility of Govt. to establish and take care of unemployed youths who are good citizen and law obeying people of our country? Sh. Neeraj Gupta said that a memorandum regarding the rehabilitation of the Rehri, Khokha and Phari workers has already presented to the Hon’ble Govt. and Sh. B,B, Vyas had assured us that something will definitely be done in support of these people. He had also forworded the copy of memorandum to the Vice-Chairman JDA, but even then in the Friday morning the demolition drive was initiated and the khoka and rehri’s were demolished by the JDA Authorities which is highly condemnable. When this protest was held the Vice-Chairman JDA meet the office bearers of the Union and once again assured them that their demands are genuine and the Govt. shall definitely take effective measures to rehabilitate these youths. Vice Chairman further assured them that he will take the matter at the earliest before the Governor so that these youths may have been allotted a place for Rehari Zone or Kiosks at the Transport Nagar Yard Narwal or other placed so that the people can earn their bread peacefully. On this occasion he was accompanied by Sonu, Paramjit Singh, Gurnam Singh, Sunil Verma, Ramesh Kumar, Amar Chand, Puran Singh, Gopal Dass, Kuldeep Singh, Tarsem Hukam Chand,Sanju Kumar, Kewel Krishan Etc
