Jammu, Dec, 01
All Parents Association Jammu today press conference at canal road office Jammu in support of their demands regarding organized loot by private schools in connivance with Directorate of School Education (DCE), Jammu in the name of tuition fee.
Private schools are openly violating the orders of DSE, despite many journalists and media channels have exposed the open loot of private schools. All this going in vain as our Government is not interested in the protecting rights of parents instead they are only and only interested in there vested interest that is the “Attachiyon k Rishtey” with private school owners. The private schools are forcing, harassing, pressurizing and emotionally blackmailing parents to submit the complete school fees and are also forcing parents to buy books from there blue eyed book vendors. We are still ready to pay only 20% of the monthly tuition fees nothing more than that too for the sake of the salary of the teachers and other staff as they are also dependent on the tuition fees. Parents are not in a position to fill pockets of profit making private schools. School owners have become so ruthless that they in this crisis are still looting the parents who are left with no money as businesses are closed salaries of private employees are not released.
He further said that when states like Gujarat, Kolkata and many other states can waive off the school fees for the lockdown period and reduced fee afterwards, then why administration of UT of J&K can not waive-off school fees. He said that we are not against the school teachers as they are dependent on the school fees. Parents are willing to pay only 20 % of the monthly tuition fees towards salaries of the teacher can be paid.
Amir Kapoor has urged the Lieutenant Governor (LG), Sh. Manoj Sinha, to hear the voice of parents of wards of Jammu. We are been harassed by private schools with the help of government authorities be it DSE, Commissioner Secretary or Advisor to Governor. While it is the responsibility of Government to protects rights of pupils and their wards, our Government is nurturing and feeding private schools. Parents have been rendered ATM machines for private schools. Schools are closed since March 2020, but they are still charging complete monthly fee with all components maintenance, electricity, water, printing and what not. Here are some points we want you to take note of –
No schools should be allowed to open till vaccine or any sure treatment for COVID-19 is available.
Waive-off all components of school fee except the component of teachers salaries, which is 20% of monthly fee or whatever fraction as per recommendations by JKFFC vide their order no. 1 dated 28-01-2019, for the session 2020-21.
Waive-off annual charges and any charges other than monthly fee.
Implementation of One Nation One Book as per New Education Policy by Ministry of HRD and NCERT.
Take strict action against nexus for school books and uniforms
In the end, Amit Kapoor said if our demands are not met, all the parents of Jammu Kashmir will be on the roads with only our Government to blame. He also appealed parents to dont pay any kind of school fees till further orders by Government.
