Amar Mahal Museum & Hari Tara Charitable Trust paid homage to Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji, the founder of the erstwhile princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, on the eve of his birth anniversary i.e, October 21, at his statue in the serene lawns of Amar Mahal Palace, Jammu.
The celebration was led by Rajkumar Martand Singh along with the staff of Amar Mahal Museum and members of the Trust lit the lamps in front of Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji’s statue.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajkumar Martand Singh highlighted the exceptional leadership and vision of Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji, who is remembered for laying the foundation of a strong and unified Dogra state. He emphasized how the Maharaja’s efforts not only brought together various regions under one rule but also promoted peace, stability, and development during his reign. He pointed out that the principles and values upheld by Maharaja Gulab Singh continue to resonate even today, reminding everyone of the rich history and culture that the Dogra dynasty established.
He further stressed the importance of preserving the cultural heritage and historical legacy associated with the Dogra rulers, stating that it is the responsibility of the present generation to ensure that the traditions, values, and history of the region are remembered and cherished. “Maharaja Gulab Singh Ji was a visionary leader whose contributions were pivotal in shaping the history of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is essential to keep his legacy alive by educating future generations about the rich cultural past that he helped create,” Rajkumar Martand added.
