A day long Apex Body meeting of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Migrant Cell here today at Green Land Palace Roop Nagar (Muthi) Jammu, Presided over by Chairman Migrant Cell Hira Lal Pandita. JKPCC Chief Shri G.A. Mir was guest of honour while other senior leaders of PCC who attended Former Ministers & Vice Presidents JKPCC Shri Mula Ram & Raman Bhalla General secretaries Yogesh Sawhney & Th. Manmohan Singh. The Meeting threadbare discussed the strategy to counter the false propaganda of the BJP at the Centre and in the State. Almost all participants shared their views & highlighted various problems faced by them and criticized BJP for its total failure to fulfill its promises made with the people during elections. JKPCC Chief & Former Minister Shri G.A. Mir while addressing a gathering Mir said Kashmir and Kashmiryat is incomplete without the return and rehabilitation of Kashmir migrants especially the minority community as the age old secular credentials of Kashmir are under question without the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri pandits to their native land, with dignity in an atmosphere, where they feel adequate sense of safety and security to their lives and property as well their religious rights . He said the migration of Kashmiri pandits from the valley is a blot on the secular tradition and religious brotherhood, for which Kashmir and Kashmiryat is known and their return is unfinished agenda and challenge to all political dispensations in the country and state, as well as those who believe in the secular values of the country. On this occasion PCC Chief said that Kashmiri Pandit brethren are an important part of State’s composite culture of harmony, age old tradition of brotherhood and togetherness, their return to Kashmir valley with dignity in an atmosphere of peace is of a paramount importance as the Kashmiri culture will continue to remain incomplete till their return and rehabilitation. He recalled the role of Kashmiri Pandits in strengthening the Party in the State as well as in the country. Mir expressed hope that the community will perform the same role in future too in strengthening the Party in the State. Tracing roots of Congress in Pandits, he said the community has performed the great role in strengthening the Congress not only in J&K but entire country. Mir also highlighted the various steps taken by previous UPA Government at Centre in solving various basic problems of the Pandits. PCC Vice President Shri Raman Bhalla in his address said that Kashmiri Pandits always supported Congress party, being a well educated community, it should not be misguided by the hollow and false promises of BJP-PDP. He cautioned them against the forces of exploitation, who exploit the people on the name of religion & region for vote bank politics.
