Apni Party today celebrated Constitution Day that provides equal opportunity and protects the rights of the citizen of the country under the Constitution of India.
As per a press release, a program to celebrate the occasion was organised here at the Apni Party Office, Gandhi Nagar in Jammu and Dr BR Ambedkar was remembered for his contribution in the frame work of the constitution.
The photo of Dr BR Ambedkar was garlanded with flowers, and his unmatched contribution was remembered by the Party leaders.
Speaking on the occasion, Party’s Provincial President Jammu and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh recalled the hardships faced by the unprivileged section of the society and their exploitation before the independence of the country.
“The Constitution provided equal rights to the marginalized section of the society with reservation and various provision with an aim to upgrade their socio, economic and political status. For decades, these marginalized sections struggled, but the Constitution protected their rights and ensured that they get equal opportunity in every field, ” he said, while recalling how the Dr BR Ambedkar himself faced discrimination during his school days and social discrimination.
He said that the socio and economic status of the neglected class of section still faces such problems in remote areas, but whenever these issues come to fore, the culprits are booked and punished.
He called upon the people to safe guard constitution of the country to ensure that the discrimination ends permanently from the society.
Prominent among those who were present in the occasion includes ex- MLA Faqir Nath, Arun Chibber, Ajaz Kazmi, Bodh Raj Bhagat, Pavneet Kour, Neelam Gupta, Vaibhav Mattoo, Inder Pal Singhand others.
