JAMMU, Sept 12:
Apni Party, Provincial President, Jammu, Manjit Singh has said that they will ensure rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir are protected and minerals are used by the locals.
Addressing a meeting of party leaders and workers in Tikkri which was organised by Dharam Pal Verma, Manjit Singh said that Apni Party will ensure that the people get their rights fulfilled and no discrimination is made to them.
“We will not allow any discrimination with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the jobs will be ensured for the local youth only. Statehood is the major demand of the people from both the regions as they feel disempowered with the snatching of their constitutional right i.e., Statehood of such a historic royal Dogra State,” he welcomed those who joined the party in Tikkri.
Over two dozen prominent people joined the Apni Party in Tikkri and they expressed their faith in the leadership of Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari.
He said that “We will not compromise with the rights of the people whether it is extraction of miners. There is strong resentment among the people with regard to the extraction of miners by the non-locals. The Apni Party will fight for the protection of the rights of the locals and we will not allow anyone from outside to snatch bread and butters from the locals.”
He said that the Apni Party will also not allow demographic change in Jammu and Kashmir in any case and will ensure that the people are not deprived of their constitutional rights.
“The projects which are going on in Jammu and Kashmir should have the share of the locals in majority and local skilled/unskilled unemployed youth should be given employment in these developmental projects,” he added.
The people present in the meeting also appreciated a commitment of Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari that they will deliver the first 300 electricity units for free if the Apni Party comes to power.
He said that the Apni Party will fulfill the commitments made with the people by all means when it comes to power. “We are not giving statements like other political parties. We do what we commit to the people,” he said.
“Bukhari Sahab has equally represented Jammu and Kashmir in Delhi when other political parties were not ready to speak on the issues. They have misled the people for the last seven decades. People in large numbers are joining the Apni Party due to its commitments, and policies which are focused on development and unity of both the regions,” he said.
He further said that “We believe that the developmental work should be gone in all the villages and far-flung areas of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Meanwhile, Ex-MLA Faqir Nath, also spoke on the occasion, and highlighted various issues being faced by the people. He said that the people in Tikkri have issues with developmental, and health centres.
“The developmental infrastructure is poor in far-flung villages of Tikkri. These areas have huge potential in the agriculture sector, but the department concerned has not provided any support to the farmers. “We have ample ground water to grow vegetables. The concerned department should guide the farmers so that their earning power can be enhanced with modern techniques,” he said.

Provincial Secretary, Dr Rohit Gupta, President, Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kazmi, State SC Coordinator Bodh Raj Bhagat, District General Secretary, Udhampur, Satpal Chalotra, Youth District President, Ajeet Sharma, district vice president, Kewal Krishan Commando and others were also present on the occasion.
