Jammu, Sept, 12:
Apni Party today expressed concern over the deplorable condition of basic amenities in Bathindi and its adjoining areas of Gandhi Nagar Assembly Constituency which has made the lives of the people miserable.
The programme was organised by District Secretary, Apni Party’s Jammu District Unit, Ashraf Choudhary.
Provincial President, Women Wing, Jammu, Namrta Sharma, and District President – Jammu Urban – Pranav Shagotra led the meeting in which many leaders and workers participated.
On this occasion, many people joined Apni Party including Rubina Ashraf, Jasmeen Choudhary, Rashida Bano, Sarwar Jaan, Ramzana Bibi, Rashida Bibi, Manzoora Bibi, Shabina Bibi, Ramhota Bibi, Shabina Bibi, Raj Bibi, Nusrat Bano, Shahnaz Bano and others.
Welcoming the newcomers into the party, Namrta Sharma said that most of the part of Bathindi falls under Jammu Municipal Corporation yet it has poor cleanliness and proper dumping zones for garbage which often causes hazardous situations.
“It seems Bathindi is out of sight for the JMC officials who are responsible for keeping the Jammu City Clean and Green. The scattered garbage close to the residential colonies has exposed the people to health-related issues,” said Namrta while speaking before the people.
Namrta also referred to the women’s issues in the area and demanded that the social welfare department should give special attention to the area with regard to the health of women and children.
“Govt sponsored welfare schemes which are mainly women centric should be promoted so that the women folks are made financially independent,” said Namrta and hailed the people who have joined Apni Party and extended their faith in the leadership of the party.
Meanwhile, District President, Jammu Urban, Pranav Shagotra also expressed his concern over the negligence of the residential area which is hardly few kms away from the city.
“The JMC should take up the developmental works in Bathindi. The people generally have complaints about lanes, poor drainage system, unscheduled power cuts, and irregular water supply in the area which has added to the routine issues,” he said.
He said that the people in Bathindi belong to the Tribal Community and many of them are below the poverty line. “We are informed by the locals that the CAPD Department has given them Above Poverty Line (APL) ration cards even as their financial condition is Below Poverty Line.
“The CAPD department should ask his officials to look into the grievances of the people and give BPL ration cards to the deserving people by withdrawing their APL ration cards. The poor families should not be deprived of the Govt schemes and ration provided on subsidized rates,” he said.
Besides, the participants expressed gratitude to Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari for commitment to deliver the first 300 electricity units for free if the Apni Party comes to Power.
