In its effort to strengthen roots among the people, Apni Party today organised a one-day Party Workers Convention at Udhampur to discuss the current political situation while seeking restoration of Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
The one-day Party Workers Convention was organised by the District President, Udhampur, Hans Raj Dogra and Ex-MLA Chenani Faqir Nath.
The convention was attended by the senior leaders of the party from Jammu and they had threadbare discussion on the present political situation.
“The people in J&K have suffered worse since August 2019 without an elected Govt. There is no one to help the people, development is going on with snail pace and the officers are not responsive to the grievances in many of the cases especially in rural and hilly areas,” said Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, Manjit Singh.
Singh was accompanied by Ex-MLA Faqir Nath, Apni Trade Union, President, Ajaz Kazmi, Provincial Secretary, Dr Rohit Gupta, State OBC Coordinator Madan Lal Chalotra and others.
On this occasion, a large number of people including a retired Block Development Officer (BDO) Sham Lal Sotra alongwith over a dozen people joined Apni Party while expressing faith in the leadership of Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari and policies and agenda of the party.
Prominent among those who joined Apni Party included Vijay Kumar Dogra, Des Raj, Shiv Ram, Ram Krishan, Raj Kumar, Parkash, Darshan Kumar Ritti, Sanjay Pandita, Vijay Thakur, and others.
Youth who joined Apni Party included Ajeet Sharma, Yog Raj, Shiv Kumar, Krishan Lal, Vijay Sharma, Sachen Sharma, Vicky Sharma, Atul Dogra, Ankush Dogra, Arjun Dogra, Vijay Thakur, Sahil, Pawan Kumar (Thakur), Akisht Sharma, Pawan Deep Jamwal, Rahul Sharma, Dimple Sharma, Kuldeep Sharma, Arun Kumar Sharma and others.
Welcoming them into the party, Manjit Singh said that there is alienation among the people due to disconnect of the officers and hopelessness from the political parties who have ruled J&K but did nothing for the people.
“The people want a leader to represent them and redress their issues. They see a ray of hope in the leadership of Party President Altaf Bukhari. It is the result that many people are coming forward and joining the hands of Apni Party leaders to strengthen the party as well as J&K,” said Manjit Singh.
He said that “Our struggle for the restoration of Statehood to J&K will continue until it is given back to us. We commit to the people what is achievable and do not restore vote bank politics by misleading the masses with false promises and emotional sloganeering.”
He said that J&K needs a political Govt. “It is possible with the holding of elections. Further delaying assembly elections while waiting for a delimitation report will not benefit J&K or the people. Therefore, the elections are a must to restore the elected Govt and win the confidence of the people who have lost their hope,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Ex-MLA Faqir Nath said that Udhampur is far behind with regard to development or promotion of tourism. “We do not have proper clean drinking water, health facilities and road connectivity in rural areas of the district,” said the Ex-MLA. The Ex-MLA further said that the prestigious project like Devika is not pursued in a proper manner and the pace of work is very slow.
District President, Udhampur, Hans Raj Dogra, said that handing over of mining to the outsiders is an injustice with the local people who were already into this business.
“The Govt. should allow the locals by giving them permission for mining and extraction of minerals as hundreds of people have become jobs less with the restrictions which seems unjustified,” he added.
Apni Party seeks Statehood restoration, mining extraction contract should be handed over to locals, local issues of tourism sector nothing was done, and Devika Project not followed properly:
