Apni Party today urged Govt to reduce taxes on petrol and diesel so that the inflation of essential commodities can be controlled.
In a statement to the press, Provincial Vice President, Jammu and Ex-MLC Syed Asgar Ali appreciated women for taking part in political activities. “Women should come forward and join the political activities and be a part of change,” he said in his encouraging words while welcoming the newcomers into the Party folds.
He said that the women have played important role to curb drug addiction in J&K. He insisted on women education and their social, economic and political empowerment.
He was speaking on the occasion in which a large numbers of women from Model Town, Diagana in Gandhi Nagar constituency joined Apni Party. Prominent among those who joined Party included Neetu, Monica, Simmi, Bhagwan Kour, Anuradha, and others.
Meanwhile, Provincial President, Women Wing, Jammu, Namrta Sharma said that the price of essential commodities has increased and it has over burdened the common masses especially the poor.
“The people are not able to bear the expenses of goods and vegetables. The cost of all the goods has witnesses a sharp rise which should be controlled by the Govt by reducing taxes imposed on petrol and diesel,” said Namrta.
Namrta was also appraised about the developmental issues of different areas, increasing eve-teasing incidents, and drug addiction in Gandhi Nagar.
On listening to their grievances, Namrta said that the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has failed completely and there seems no mitigation of their concerns.
“The cleanliness is in worst condition. The roadside and corners in localities dumped with garbage and the garbage management has completely collapsed,” alleged Namrta.
Namrta appealed police department to ensure safety and security of women in Model Town, Diagana and keep check on the eve-teasing incidents.
