Arjun’s ton guides KCSC to semis

JAMMU, June 05:
The KC Sports Club (KCSC) today became the third team to qualify for the ongoing JKCA Premier Cricket Championship of Jammu district, organised by the JKCA at GGM Science College ground, here.
In the third quarterfinal, decided today, KCSC outplayed Vishal Cricket Club by four wickets. Earlier, Vishal Club, batting first after winning the toss, made 212 runs for eight wickets in allotted 30 overs. Veteran cricketer, Rajesh Gill played superb innings of 84 (off 69 balls, 11×4, 2×6) runs while Lakhan contributed 59 runs. Robin and Jagteshwar added 24 and 20 runs respectively.
Sunil remained most successful bowler with three wickets while Atul took two and Hisham one.
In reply, KCSC chased the total making 216 runs for six wickets in 29 overs. It was Arjun Gandotra, who hit a brilliant a brilliant century and guided the team to semifinals. He hit 112 runs off 86 deliveries studded with 12 boundaries and six hits over the fence. Hisham contributed 21 runs. From Vishal Club, Lakhan and Rohit shared two wickets each while Sandesh claimed one.
Later, Arjun named man of the match for his brilliant century. Ashok Singh and Sandeep were umpires in today’s match.
