Army Civilian Porters highlights demands; seeks redressal

While talking to media persons in Jammu today several Army Civilian Porters said that they are permanent resident of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Himachal Pradesh and Pathankote. And were recruited at Cantt. Area, Pathankote (Punjab) Army area Udhampur Akhnoor as Army Civilian Porters. They stated that they have cleared all the Medical Test and as well as completed other formalities of the concerned authorities C/O 56 APO. During Kargil war (OPERATION VIJAY) in the year 1999-2002 and served in most difficult terrain in Kargil area of (J&K) along with regular Army Troops, they added. During the WAR in 1999-2002 are 10 porters lost their lives while serving for Nation Govt. gave financial held as well as Govt. job to one person of Martyred porters families, they said.
They further informed that rest of all porters are waiting for their engagement as per the assurances, promises made by the Govt./ Authorities. After the War authorities verbally assured us and handed over certificated to every individual portal and assured which assured us preference in recruitment in Govt. Job keeping in view of our service to National in the hour of need, they added. It is very difficult for us to earn livelihood for our family members as we spend precious time of our life for the sake of our MOTHER LAND in the hour of need Govt. framed rehabilitation and employment policies for the surrendered militants who are involved in criminal and anti national activities, they told. They further said that they are still unemployed and waiting for the employment as assured be the then commanding authorities for the last 15-16 year and we expect a strict action from the most powerful personality of our country.
