JAMMU, July 24:
A two day Inter School, Girls Kho-Kho Competition was organised by Indian Army at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Harni aimed to encourage the girl students to be physically fit and also to take up sports as a career to display their potential in sports.
The final match was played between Government Girls High School, Harni and Government High School, Ari. The match was keenly contested and Government High School Harni team won the thrilling final. The event witnessed the participation of Eight Kho-Kho teams from Poonch District. Both winners and runners up were awarded with prizes and individual medals. Gracing the occasion, the villagers said that such proponent measures helping in nurturing talent are welcomed by the local populace.
The event was attended by the teachers, students and prominent citizens of Harni and adjoining villages. On the occasion, Army applauded the participants for displaying sportsmanship and encouraged them to make the best use of such a platform to display their sporting talent and also laid emphasis on the importance of games and sports for their overall development.
