The Indian Army is contributing towards women empowerment by conducting job oriented and self reliance cadres for women in remote areas. As part of this initiative, the Indian Army is conducting a Driving Cadre for Women of Gool in Ramban district from 06 – 19 Jul 19.
In today’s society, women are looking towards self sustenance and to improve their way of life, realising the need of wider role of women in running the family. Such initiatives by the Army, especially those emphasizing on skills such as driving and other professional courses have helped women in realising their true potential. The women are being imparted with driving lessons comprising of practical, theoretical and maintenance aspects of four & two wheelers. The participants thanked the Army for enabling them to become self reliant for future and reduce their dependency on male members of their families for day to day activities. A total of 28 women will be attending the said cadre.
Speaking on the occasion, the participants said that this initiative is a welcome step towards the overall efforts of the Army for empowering women which would enable them to become self dependent in future and carry out daily chores. The local populace, especially the women folk, expressed their gratitude towards the Army for such initiative and unstinted support towards women empowerment. They also urged the Army to conduct similar cadres in future, which will lead the population and region towards a brighter future.
