A motivational and educational tour to Nagrota, Mohali, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jalandhar and Ludhiana for 12 students and two teachers from remote areas of Naushera Tehsil of Rajouri District, concluded with a formal ceremony organised at Reasi based Counter Insurgency Force Headquarters.
The eleven days tour included visit to historical and tourist places alongwith select educational institutes of repute.
Professor Inam Ul Haq, one of the professors accompanying the tour, while speaking on the occasion, said, “I am one of the lucky ones, to be a part of the tour and see the glimpses of Punjab University, Kumar Army Stores Hosiery Manufacturing Unit, Pushpa Gurjal Science City, Verka Milk Plant, Sports Manufacturing Unit, Jalianwala Bagh, Wagah Border, Guru Nanak Dev University, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum and other industrial areas as well as historical places. I have proudly experienced the rich diversity of our nation which often was only heard by people of this region. I will definitely share my experience with my fellow professors and my students to bring a new awareness among them. I will be ever thankful to the Army for this opportunity”.
During the Flagging In, Major General Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding, Force Headquarters Reasi exhorted them to make the best of this exposure and try to explore Armed Forces as a career choice. The students thanked the Army for organising such a monumental tour and mentioned that they will always cherish this experience.
The tour has made a forceful impact on the young minds and has instilled in them the spirit of patriotism. The sensitivity and indulgence exhibited by the Army in providing these youth an opportunity to strive for a bright future was noteworthy. The successful completion of this tour has resulted in fostering closer relationship between the locals and the Army. It has also developed a deep sense of belonging for the nation in the hearts of these students of remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
