As part of the Indian Army’s ongoing activities to foster the spirit of National integration across the entire swathe of the country, a gymnasium was inaugurated in Loran Village of Poonch District. The gymnasium was inaugurated by Major General PS Bajwa, General Officer Commanding, Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo) who graced the event alongwith other Senior Army Officers, Media persons and local dignitaries of the village. GOC, while addressing the gathering laid emphasis on the importance of physical fitness for the betterment of the youth.
The aim of the project is to promote healthy living practices, especially amongst the youth of the region. The benefits of doing regular exercise and improving physical fitness were explained to the audience attending the event. The facility contains state of art fitness equipment and a dedicated instructor to guide the health enthusiasts to train properly. The elders of the village expressed their appreciation for the Army for providing such a facility which encourages the youth to have positive approach in life.
