Srinagar, JUN 14 :
An Army jawan named Aurangzeb who was abducted by suspected terrorists on Thursday, 14 June, from Kashmir’s Pulwama district, was found dead in the late hours of 14 June.
The report said that Aurangzeb is a resident of Poonch and was on his way home in a private vehicle when he was abducted.
The army man had boarded the vehicle from his Company Operating Base in Shadimarg, but his vehicle was stopped a few kilometres away on the Old Mughal Road.
Earlier in the day, former CM Omar Abdullah had expressed concern over the “worrying development” and tweeted that he hoped for the jawan’s safe return.
The abduction comes on a day when Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is discussing the extension or calling off of the Ramzan ceasefire that is set to end on Friday, 15 June.
