JAMMU, Oct 17:
To reaffirm its commitment towards fostering peace and also to provide an impetus to the sporting talents in the region, Army organised a “Volleyball Tournament” at Village Chas, Kishtwar district. The aim of this event was to facilitate the youth by providing a platform even in the remotest of areas to help them ascertain themselves. A total of two teams from Chas and Drubil participated in the tournament.
Drubil team won the final match and were suitably awarded. The competitive spirit displayed by the players was indeed phenomenal. The zeal and rigour of the local sports talents was praiseworthy right from participation till the culmination of the event.
The Army officials applauded the participants for showing gritty determination of highest standards and also encouraged them to practice and excel in all such events in future. The audience at the Prize Distribution Ceremony appreciated the efforts of the Army for conducting such an event which brings to fore the sense & feeling of bonhomie & trust between the locals and Army.
